O presente estudo tem como objetivo identificar o perfil epidemiológico e avaliar a ocorrência de tonturas e risco de queda em idosos do município de Serra Talhada, Pernambuco, Brasil. Para tanto, foi realizado um estudo epidemiológico quantitativo, descritivo e transversal realizado com idosos com queixa de tontura e usuários da rede de Atenção Básica de Serra Talhada, de agosto de 2017 a agosto de 2018. Utilizou-se questionários acerca do perfil epidemiológico, história médica pregressa e ocorrência de tonturas. O risco de quedas foi avaliado pelo teste Timed Up and Go (TUG) com regressão logística da variável dicotomizada (presença ou ausência de dependência). Foram avaliados 101 indivíduos, com predominância para o sexo feminino, pardos, com ensino fundamental I incompleto, casados, aposentados e sedentários. A idade média foi de 71,1. As principais comorbidades foram Hipertensão Arterial Sistêmica, deficiências visuais e artrite. A média do TUG foi de 15,9 segundos, não havendo relação estatística significativa com o sexo, ocorrência de tonturas, atividade física ou autopercepção de saúde. Houve relação direta entre a dependência e a idade e a presença de diabetes mellitus e inversa com a presença de HAS. Constatou-se, através da análise do perfil epidemiológico e da identificação das variáveis que melhor contribuem para a ocorrência probabilística de dependência segundo os critérios do TUG, infere-se fatores de risco associados à queda, permitindo uma abordagem rápida e efetiva que poderá diminuir a sua ocorrência.
Stroke is an emergency associated with morbidity and mortality, being the second leading cause of death and disability in adults worldwide. The Ministry of Health recommends using the guidelines of the Brazilian Society of Cerebrovascular Diseases (SBDCV) as a protocol for emergency care in Brazilian health services. However, it is known that there is a shortage of resources for stroke care in Brazil, especially in emergencies located outside the capitals. There was a need to analyze health practices related to stroke according to the reality of Serra Talhada/PE. The objective was to describe the emergency assistance provided to stroke cases in the emergency services of the municipality of Serra Talhada/ PE and to carry out a comparative analysis in relation to the guidelines. For this purpose, a descriptive, cross-sectional study was carried out, whose population included stroke cases admitted to the services and the sampling was of the consecutive type. The research instruments were the Individual Registration Form and Self-Reported Questionnaire of Health Conditions/Situations, in addition to the Evaluation Form prepared according to the protocol recommended by the SBDCV. The sample consists of 143 participants, 54.5% male and 53.1% mixed race. Most of the sample is composed of elderly people and has hypertension and diabetes mellitus. 74.1% do not follow a diet and 87.4% are sedentary. 30.8% of the sample is a smoker and 16.1% is an alcoholic. 88.8% of the sample had a diagnosis of ischemic stroke. 90.2% had their blood pressure measured. The parameters of capillary blood glucose in 37.8%, oxygen saturation in 47.6%, temperature in 69.9% and electrocardiogram in 38.5% were not evaluated. Blood count was requested for 82.5%. Renal function was not requested for 35%, ionogram for 38.5%, fasting glucose for 66.4% and coagulogram for 93%. With this, it was noticed that the initial care for stroke in
A adolescência é o período em que a maioria dos jovens inicia a vida sexual, necessitando do aporte educacional para evitar problemas sexuais e reprodutivos. Verifica-se então, a importância dos estudantes universitários como promotores de estratégias dessa educação em saúde. Objetivou-se promover educação em saúde sexual para adolescentes de escolas públicas da cidade de Serra Talhada/PE, realizando-se projeto de extensão no período de abril a dezembro/2017. Os alunos foram convidados a participar de ações englobando temas sobre sexualidade, que foram realizadas através de oficinas com metodologias ativas e tradicionais. Para análise do conhecimento dos estudantes, foram aplicados questionários antes e após as ações. Executaram-se 6 palestras em cada uma das seis turmas, com participação de 220 estudantes e aplicação de 623 questionários de pré e pós-teste. Os alunos tinham entre 14 e 20 anos, 51,2% eram mulheres e 82,5% da zona urbana. Verificou-se aumento dos acertos no pós-teste em relação ao pré-teste: 21,8% acertaram entre 6 e 10 questões no pré-teste e 72,1% no pós-teste. As intervenções beneficiaram ampla população de adolescentes e que é necessário que a universidade extrapole os seus muros e se aproxime da comunidade cada vez mais.
