El movimiento neofantástico surge como corriente literaria posterior a lo fantástico. Este nuevo movimiento promulga la aceptación de una verosimilitud nueva, de la incursión del elemento insólito en la vida cotidiana como apertura, como pasaje hacia nuevas realidades en las que lo cotidiano toma un rumbo distinto. Un giro más se da con la 'Patafísica, que comparte esa misma búsqueda de una nueva verosimilitud, derivada de la angustia existencial. La 'Patafísica no razona lo verosímil de un modo puramente estético, sino que es, además, una actitud interior, una disciplina, una ciencia y un arte que permite a cada individuo vivir como una excepción bajo su propia ley. Veremos cómo esta nueva "verdad", esta nueva verosimilitud, se plasma en los juegos de lenguaje de las obras de Jarry, Kafka, Cortázar, Vian o Queneau, en la distancia irónica y el humor en todos sus planos, en el metaready-made y el "collage".
Este artículo pretende mostrar las similitudes entre las obras del padre del surrealismo bruselense Paul Nougé, y del escritor cubano Alejo Carpentier, ambos disidentes del surrealismo francés de André Breton. Se estudiará cómo estos escritores reciben el surrealismo bretoniano y cómo lo despojan de lo que consideran viciado y lejano a su imaginario. Tanto el surrealista belga como el cubano comparten una misma ideología, unos impulsos vitales parecidos, una falta de identidad similar y el deseo de alzar su palabra y sus proyectos por encima de la realidad creando, de este modo, una co-superrealidad con André Breton.
