El objetivo de esta investigación ha sido documentar la experiencia de intervención del Trabajo Social vivida por mujeres al frente de familias monomarentales de Zaragoza. Mediante una investigación cualitativa, se han analizado las entrevistas semiestructuradas de 13 mujeres cuya situación laboral de desempleo y/o nivel de ingresos inferior al SMI les había obligado a solicitar ayuda a los servicios sociales. Estas entrevistas fueron realizadas dentro del marco de una investigación más amplia sobre madres de familias monomarentales con procedencias, rutas de entrada en la monomarentalidad y situación económica diversas. Dentro de los hallazgos revelados por las entrevistas seleccionadas, destaca la disparidad de experiencias y percepciones sobre la atención recibida, que oscilan entre situaciones muy positivas y experiencias muy negativas, indicando una heterogeneidad notable de la intervención de las profesionales del Trabajo Social. Además de ser altavoz para estas mujeres y plasmar su opinión sobre la intervención social recibida, esta investigación analiza sus experiencias desde la óptica del Trabajo Social Feminista. Por un lado, se confirma un riesgo claro de infantilización y patologización de las demandantes y, por otro lado, un escenario en el que las profesionales del TS parecen sucumbir a la burocratización, limitación de recursos y dilemas éticos, degradando notablemente su práctica profesional. En el otro extremo, nos encontramos con prácticas profesionales, así como experiencias de acompañamiento y empoderamiento, muy positivas, en las que se transmite que las ayudas económicas y prestaciones son un derecho. Ante esta realidad tan dispar, se propone incorporar a la práctica del Trabajo Social metodologías con perspectiva de género y/o feminista que aporten el grado de satisfacción de estas madres con la intervención solicitada. Asimismo, se necesitan planes de formación que subrayen una visión feminista positiva de las familias monomarentales, como ejemplo de responsabilidad y resiliencia en el cuidado y sostenimiento familiar, y que pongan en valor las oportunidades de transformación que estas familias suponen para las mujeres y la sociedad en su conjunto.
