Abslmd-Considering the fact that the springs ofthe actuator of vacuum circuit breaker is the sources of the power and force, in this paper, the rcality of the spring-cam actuator of vacuum circuit breaker has been investigated through the analysis of spring reliability analysis. The optimization design for the actuator of the 10 kV, 12.5 kA vacuum circuit breaker has been carried out and taken BS the object for reliability investigation. The reliability of the vacuum circuit breaker to he investigated is analyzed.1 . IslROUUCTlON The performance reliability of the mechanism and apparatus is the eternal subject for the engineering design, manufacturing and scientific research. At present, the development trend of vacuum circuit breaker is toward to the miniaturization, increasing breaking voltage and capability,. intellectlralization and so on. But any of them is somehow related with increasing its performance reliability.In the engineering practice, the reliability and usage life of the outcome of manufacture are usually determined through the life testing procedure. About the reliability and usage life prediction of the actuator, there is no any report published up to now. So the investigation on actuator reliability becomes comparative importance. The actuator of vacuum circuit breaker is consisted of springs, cam and connecting rods. Considering the fact that the springs of the actuator is the sources of the power and force, so the springs in the actuator are the key factors to determine the reliability and the life of the actuator. Thus, it is rational to choose the springs of the actuator as the basis of analysis and through them the reliability prediction is investigated. In this paper, the optimization design for the actuator of a IO kV. 12.5 kA vacuum circuit breaker is carried out firstly by choosing the difference between output power and load power as the objective function and the length of rods L~ L~ L; and spring elastic coefficient K,, K2as the variables to be optimized firstly, then the research on reliability prediction is proceeded by using those optimized parameters according to the mechanical life specification given by the interrupter. The initial breaking velocity after IO4 times breaking is calculated and the reliability life of the model breaker is predicted. OPTIIIZATJONG DESIGN FOR ACTUATOR OF VACUUM CIRCVIT BREAKEKThe Chinese made ZW-101630-12.5 type outdoor vacuum circuit breaker has been taken as the investigation object.Some parameters of it are listed in table 1 and table 11.
