Research background: Azerbaijan, as a country with rich mineral resources, faces macroeconomic difficulties due to income instability. In 2011-2013, during the period of high world oil prices, Azerbaijan began to diversify the economy and develop the non-oil sector at the expense of oil and gas export revenues. The need to diversify the economy and export has become especially important in the conditions of increased global competition and the integration of the national economy into the world economy. Purpose of the article: The aim of the issue is assessment and study the characteristics of diversification of the economy of Azerbaijan, analyze the dependence of the country’s economic development on the degree of diversification of its economy and exports, assess the level of economic diversification of the country. Methods: To measure the level of diversification, we used indicators such as Herfindahl-Hirschmann export diversification index, and industry concentration in GDP. The originality and value of the research lies in revelation a number of indicators specific to the Azerbaijani economy that affect economic growth based on correlation-regression analysis and other econometric methods. According to econometric characteristics, the resulting model is adequate and confirms the empirical findings Findings & Value added: The results of the study showed that deeper diversification of the economy is required. To overcome oil dependence and conduct effective economic diversification, it is necessary to develop processing industries, expand the accessibility of small and medium enterprises to financial resources, and stimulate foreign investment in the non-oil sector.
Research background: With globalization on the Internet, the economy is gaining a wide range of new opportunities. The economic activity carried out using the latest IT - technologies is effective and profitable. E-commerce is one of the main components of the “new economy", which is gaining increasing practical importance. The effectiveness of electronic commerce is determined by the fact that with this form of trading transaction costs are reduced, i.e. the costs associated with the search and processing of information, negotiating and signing contracts, as a result of which the process of buying and selling and concluding transactions is simplified, opportunities for attracting investments are expanded, and geographical accessibility is improved. Online commerce in Azerbaijan is at the development stage and has broad prospects for further growth. Purpose of the article: The main goal of the article is to analyze the possibilities of developing online commerce in Azerbaijan and evaluate the factors influencing its development in the context of globalization. Methods: The author carries out a comparative analysis of the development of online commerce in a number of countries, uses a systematic approach to analyze the main problems that limit the development of e-commerce in Azerbaijan. Findings & Value added: The article analyzes the main problems limiting the development of online commerce in the country and contain a number of recommendations for the further development of e-commerce in Azerbaijan.
For Azerbaijan which has taken a course on the development of the non-oil sector, tourism is the most preferable and promising sector of the economy. The favorable geographical location between Europe and Asia and the availability of necessary natural conditions contribute to the development of various types of tourism. Оne of them is youth tourism, the study of features of which is devoted to this article. А study of the needs and preferences of young tourists is aimed at identifying the main factors affecting their decision to travel. Studуing the peculiarities of the behavior of young people, tourist enterprises can develop the most appropriate marketing strategy for them.
The article's purpose was to model the assessment of the associated impact of migration and economic of Azerbaijan. The indicators of the correlation between the intensity of migration and economic growth have been substantiated. Using the Granger test, the cause-and-effect relationships of migration and the country's economic development were determined. Based on the identified relationships, a polymodal complex has been built, consisting of regression models, which reflect the nature of the mutual influence between socio-economic development indicators and the intensity of migration in Azerbaijan. The hands' number of immigrants and emigrants in Azerbaijan for 2024 has been predicted considering the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. The optimal ratio between the number of immigrants and emigrants was determined by linear optimization, ensuring GDP per capita in Azerbaijan at the level of modern economic development. The results obtained can serve as a basis for the development of a compelling state migration policy.
