The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) is a type of language test of which results are often used as a reference for new student admission in Universities. However, this test is not included in the English language learning curriculum at the secondary level so high school students are not familiar with it. Therefore, this community service activity aims at introducing the test to middle-level students so that they have knowledge and are familiar with the types of questions tested in this test. To determine the progress of students' knowledge and abilities, pre and post-tests were conducted, and the result was the improvement of the scores indicating that the learning approach chosen in this activity is in accordance with the objective of the training. In addition, a simple information system for test assessment was created using Microsoft Excel. This information system helps record student grades and makes it easier to convert TOEFL scores.
AbstractThe significant growth in the tendency of young adults to become impulsive buyers, especially after the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic, has led to the proliferation of online shopping and the ease of making transactions using electronic money. This community service aims to develop financial literacy among young adults through an edu-talk show that invites presenters to explore how design, information technology, and lifestyle have changed in the digital pandemic. To assess the change in participants' understanding, a Likert questionnaire was given before and after the talk show. The data indicate that the edu-talk show is successful in increasing the audience's awareness of the urgency of financial literacy in the targeted age group, moving them from being less literate to sufficiently literate. 50% of respondents who tended to answer 'Neutral/Unsure' increased to more than 80% who chose 'Agree/Strongly Agree' to the statement about setting aside pocket money by saving once a month on a regular basis, including the use of financial institution services for investing at a young age, especially after the pandemic era. However, in relation to edu-digital media as a solution for instilling financial literacy among young adults, it is necessary to continuously develop and disseminate it to a wider age group.
