The aim of the study is to examine differential item functioning (DIF) detection methods-the simultaneous item bias test (SIBTEST), Item Response Theory likelihood ratio (IRT-LR), Lord chi square (χ2), and Raju area measures-based on ability estimates when purifying items with DIF from the test, considering conditions of ratio of the items with DIF, effect size of DIF, and type of DIF. This study is a simulation study and 50 replications were conducted for each condition. In order to compare DIF detection methods, error (RMSD) and coefficient of concordance (Pearson's correlation coefficient) were calculated according to estimated and initial abilities for the reference group. As a result of the study, the lowest error and the highest concordance were seen in the case of 10% uniform DIF in the test and the method of IRT-LR, considering all other conditions. Moreover, for the method of SIBTEST and IRT-LR in all conditions, it was found that the error obtained by purifying items with C level DIF is lower than the error obtained by purifying items with both B and C level DIF. Similarly, for the method of SIBTEST and IRT-LR in all conditions, it was seen that the concordance coefficient found by purifying C level DIF is higher than the coefficient by purifying items with both B and C level DIF.
The testlets are prevalently used in national and international standard tests and the teacher-made achievement tests thanks to their practicality. The purpose of the current study is to evaluate the testlet effect in test consisting the open-ended items and to identify the possible errors when this effect is ignored. The data consists of the scores given by three raters of the responses of 380 students in the teacher training program to two open-ended items in two testlets. The two designs with and without the testlet effect were modeled (totally crossed random design and the nested random design) and the differences between them were analyzed by Generalizability Theory (GT). The results showed that raters had a slight effect on the scores in both models tested, and the reliability of the scores was overestimated when the testlet effect was not ignored in such measurement tools.
he Bologna process officially started in 1999 with the meeting of the higher education ministers of 29 European states in Bologna and the signing of the Bologna declaration in order to create a common higher education area in Europe. Although the goal stated in the declaration was to create a European higher education area by 2010 (Çelik, 2012), the target date for this goal was revised as 2020 with the Leuven Declaration (Süngü, 2009). In 2001, Turkey joined the Bologna process which aims to bring standards to higher education in Europe, and in 2015 the number of member states increased to 48, with the entry of Belarus (European Higher Education Area, 2015). Araflt›rman›n amac› E¤itim Fakültesi ve E¤itim Bilimleri Bölümü ö¤retim program›n›n (program ve ders bilgi paketlerinin) Bologna süreci ba¤lam›nda incelenmesidir. Fenomenoloji araflt›rma yöntemine göre desenlenen araflt›rmada "Bologna süreci ba¤lam›nda e¤itim programlar›n›n etkilili¤i" problemi incelenmifltir.
