Objetivo: Descrever a prevalência de atraso no desenvolvimento neurológico de prematuros internados em unidades de cuidados intermediários. Métodos: Trata-se de um estudo transversal, documental e quantitativo realizada nas Unidades de Cuidados Intermediários Convencionais de uma maternidade do Ceará. A coleta foi realizada com recém-nascidos internados com histórico de prematuridade. Foi preenchida uma ficha com dados relacionados à identificação da história clínica da mãe e dos bebês, e posteriormente eles foram submetidos a Hammersmith Neonatal Neurological Assessment (HNNE). Resultados: Foram incluídos no estudo 31 bebês, dentre eles 58,1% eram do sexo masculino. A idade média da mãe foi 28,32±7,05 anos e a idade gestacional média dos bebês foi 30,87±3,64 semanas. O desconforto respiratório foi a maior manifestação clínica ao nascer e 83,9% dos bebês passaram por intercorrências durante a internação, dentre elas destaca-se os quadros infecciosos. A maioria dos bebês fez uso de algum tipo de suporte ventilatório. As pontuações obtidas pela HNNE foram abaixo do ideal. Conclusão: Observou-se alta prevalência de atraso no desenvolvimento neurológico. Novos estudos devem ser conduzidos para elucidar fatores de causalidade para o problema em estudo e propositivas de prevenção e tratamento.
RESUMO O desenvolvimento infantil deve ser promovido pela família com apoio formal na puericultura. O presente estudo analisou o desempenho motor de bebês submetidos à intervenção parental na puericultura. Foi realizado um estudo de série de casos, observacional, longitudinal e descritivo, com 215 bebês de 0-18 meses atendidos em uma Unidade de Atenção Primária em Saúde de uma capital do Nordeste brasileiro. O desempenho motor dos bebês foi avaliado pela Alberta infant motor scale e orientações foram transmitidas aos pais a depender do atraso motor observado. Observou-se que 77,7% dos bebês tiveram seu primeiro atendimento no primeiro semestre de vida, 57,6% apresentaram baixo risco e 76,7% desempenho motor normal. Houve relação significativa entre a estratificação de risco e a idade gestacional e entre a estratificação de risco e o desempenho motor. Os intervalos entre as avaliações variaram de 7-252 dias. A porcentagem de bebês com atrasos motores é maior para os que chegam à puericultura após o terceiro trimestre de vida. Todos os bebês identificados com suspeita de atraso ou como atípicos, que frequentaram a puericultura, melhoraram o desempenho motor até a terceira avaliação. Bebês que são levados precocemente à puericultura, para orientações sobre intervenção parental, recuperam o atraso do desenvolvimento motor, porém muitas famílias não comparecem ao seguimento da puericultura ou chegam tardiamente para atendimento.
Introdução. Programas de intervenção precoce (IP) são implementados após o nascimento e até os três anos de idade e objetivam minimizar atrasos do desenvolvimento infantil e promover a saúde e o desempenho global familiar. A organização dos serviços de IP passou por diferentes estágios ao longo dos anos. A Classificação Internacional de Funcionalidade, Incapacidade e Saúde (CIF) permitiu incorporar o modelo Biopsicossocial no planejamento das intervenções. Objetivo. Analisar como a abordagem da funcionalidade evoluiu ao longo do tempo nos programas de IP sob a perspectiva dos conceitos e domínios da CIF. Método. Realizou-se uma revisão integrativa nas bases de dados Scielo, PEDro, Lilacs e PubMed com as estratégias de busca: "child development" AND "early intervention" AND functioning; "child development” AND "early intervention" AND disability; "child development" AND "early intervention" AND disabilities. Os critérios de inclusão foram: ensaios clínicos que estudaram práticas de IP em crianças com idade entre zero e três anos. Resultados. 23 artigos foram incluídos. Observou-se que as práticas que integram as várias perspectivas da funcionalidade e destacam a abordagem biopsicossocial são recentes, publicadas em sua maioria na última década. Conclusão. Conforme a família assumiu o protagonismo na condução das intervenções, os programas passaram a individualizar os cuidados de acordo com as necessidades específicas de cada uma e a funcionalidade passou a ser abordada em sua totalidade pelas intervenções, com os artigos mais recentes abordando os domínios Funções do corpo, Atividade, Participação e Fatores Contextuais.
