El presente trabajo surge de la problemática del uso racional de la energía eléctrica, por lo que se desarrolló una propuesta de control del consumo eléctrico para optimizar el ahorro. La propuesta contempla un sistema usando lógica difusa que permite la toma de decisiones con base a reglas de sentido común, permitiendo personalizar las características de las necesidades específicas. El proyecto fue desarrollado a partir de los datos de un sistema de cogeneración con la finalidad de maximizar su contribución. Se utilizaron valores rígidos a la salida para la habilitación y des-habilitación de cargas de consumo variable no prioritarias, el sistema de control difuso fue implantado bajo una plataforma FPGA como factor clave en esta propuesta. Los resultados obtenidos muestran la respuesta del sistema a las reglas propuestas basadas en los hábitos de consumo del usuario y en una clasificación de las cargas de acuerdo con su consumo y tiempo de uso promedio.
