Four species of Nematomorpha are recorded from NE Spain, representing the first reliable data on the group in the Iberian peninsula. Gordius aquations Linnaeus, 1758, G. plicatulus Heinze, 1937, Gordionus wolterstorffii (Camerano, 1888) and Paragordius tricuspidatus (Dufour, 1828) are redescribed based on scanning electron microscope observations. Notes on intraspecific morphological variation and ecology of the species are given.
Summary :There are many species of Nematomorpha which are deficiently described and therefore pose doubts about their actual taxonomic position. This is the case with Spinochordodes tellinii ICamerano, 1 888), which was transferred to four different genera and has been recently considered as species incertae sedis. A female of Spinochordodes tellinii is redescribed in this work under light microscopy and Scanning Electron Microscopy. Cuticle details, shapes and areolar distribution and the features as well as the location of spiniform structures are analysed. The systematic position is discussed.

The Gordiacea of the California Academy of Sciences collection are studied. The specimens are included in the known species Gordius robustus Leidy, Pseudochordodes bedriagae (Camerano) and a new species, Neochordodes californensis n. sp. is proposed. Morphological, morphometric and geographical data are provided for these species.
Twn tinw spocics of Gordius froni Argontine (G. labiclus and G. deltaensis) are dnscrihed. DeleriTimation of these species was achieve by the ultrastructural analysis of cutido. A redescription ot G. nttnni Redlicli (1980) is aiso provided.
