This study aims to empirically investigate the influence of organizational capability and organizational learning on the financial performance of family-business type small-and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). In addition, this study examines the moderating role of SMEs' ages and the managers' experiences in the relationship between organizational capability and organizational learning on the SMEs financial performance. This study is a basic exploratory research conducted by using an empirical survey, i.e., sampling of the businessman (the owner) of family-business type SMEs cross-functional in the area of DIY. The study uses purposive sampling. The respondents are the SME businessmen from the various business sectors in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The number of respondents is 150. Hypothesis testing used SPSS program's moderation regression approach; validity and reliability testing used confirmatory factor analysis and Cronbach's alpha. The result of this study shows that organizational capability positively and significantly affects the financial performance. Also, organizational learning significantly affects the financial performance. The organization's age factor does not moderate the relationship between organizational capability and the financial performance, but it is significant on the organizational learning. The factor of manager's experience moderates insignificantly on the relationship between organizational capability and financial performance. However, it is significant to the organizational learning.
This research aimed to examine the Influence of Good Corporate Governance (GCG) Mechanism and Firm Size of Corporation toward Finance Performance. This research's objects were conventional banking corporations registered at the Indonesian Stock Exchange from 2015 to 2018. The research used 98 samples; the sampling technique employed purposive sampling with specific criteria determined. The data analysis technique utilized was a double linear regression analysis using SPSS. Based on the research's result conducted, the Board of Director had a significant positive influence toward ROA, the Board of Commissioner had a significant positive influence toward ROA, the Institutional Ownership had an insignificant influence toward ROA, the Independent Commissioner had a significant positive influence toward ROA, and the Corporation Size had significant positive influence toward ROA.
Berau Regency is located in East Kalimantan known as “Bumi Batiwakkal” which has natural resources rich in flora and fauna. Rapid technological developments, easy access to information, and excessive exploitation of natural resources, especially forests, are a threat to Berau Regency. Increasing the capacity of the community to optimize the potential of local resources needs to be done through the activation and collaboration of various stakeholders in an integrated manner to support the 11 th Sustainable Development Goals. Activation of local commodity-based collaboration and entrepreneurial development is carried out through Participatory Action Research (PAR) with a Design Thinking approach through observing, defining, ideas, prototyping, and storytelling or testing. This approach is used to activate various stakeholder collaborations that contribute to developing superior products through innovative mapping of local potential: natural and human resources. Innovative stages are carried out to present accurate information by 1) Mapping the potential of the environment and community resources as accurate information to mobilize stakeholders in determining strategic steps; 2) Activation of the entrepreneurial ecosystem based on the development of local potential through increasing value-added products and services to improve community welfare. Based on observations, in addition to the beauty of the underwater, Berau Regency also has abundant potential forest products. Besides, the potential of rivers, prehistoric caves, mining, lakes, plantations, and the Gayo tribe culture can be used as an attractive new tourist attraction. Activation and development of local commodity-based social entrepreneurship can be a solution to improve people’s welfare by utilizing the untapped potential.
Research aims: This paper provides a literature review on the influence of board of directors' gender diversity on financial and non-financial performance.Design/Methodology/Approach: This research used the content analysis identified from previous studies based on the proxies employed. The article selection process was carried out from reputable international journals published in 2017-2020, resulting in 50 articles discussing board gender diversity and performance.Research findings: This study's results are a conceptual model and future research developments. Research related to female directors and performance has been much carried out. Hence, future research suggests correlating female directors based on monitoring characteristics, human capital board, and demographics. The influence of gender diversity on non-financial performance is also rarely studied.Theoretical contribution/Originality: Identification of gender diversity attributes associated with financial and non-financial performancePractitioner/Policy implication: This study provides valuable information for policymakers or regulators to refine future corporate governance policies and increase understanding of the relationship between corporate governance practices and company performance as measured by financial and non-financial performance.Research limitation/Implication: This study is based on only 50 articles in the last four years.
