La creciente contaminación de aguas residuales en la agroindustria tiene un efecto negativo tanto en el agua como en el suelo, esto ha venido en aumento como resultado de la explotación en el volumen de derrames residuales. En la presente investigación se presenta información derivada de investigaciones sobre el cultivo de Spirulina sp en aguas residuales agroindustriales. La biomasa vegetal es muy importante para la cadena trófica, como fuente de proteína para los animales terrestre. Por ello, el uso de la microalga Spirulina sp, ayudará a eliminar factores nocivos como; Insecticidas, herbicidas y otras plagas, porque ayudan a concentrar el compuesto tóxico, sin afectar su actividad biológica, también son útiles en la liberación de O2. Asimismo, se explicará la función de la microalga Spirulina sp a través de una búsqueda bibliográfica de otros estudios referente a esta variable, donde enseñan que se debe realizar su cultivo a nivel de laboratorio. Se pudo concluir que las microalgas como Spirulina sp como efluentes secundarios para el tratamiento de agua industriales, es laopción sostenible, eficiente y económico, al visualizar un buen resultado en biomasa con un 0.11 g/L, también que en las aguas contaminadas su revolución de nitrato es de 82% y en la remoción de fosfato supera el 84% demostrando eficacia como biorremediadores de fosfato, al mismo tiempo, se evita utilizar aireación, así como los bioproductos que proporcionan un valor agregado al bioproceso.
