O Programa Rede Cegonha visa à ampliação do acesso e melhoria da qualidade da atenção pré-natal, da assistência ao parto e puerpério e da assistência à criança até os dois anos de vida. O estudo objetivou apontar as abordagens práticas e as contribuições do Programa de Educação pelo Trabalho para Saúde Rede Cegonha (PET-Cegonha), em uma Unidade Básica de Saúde no município de Parnaíba, Piauí, Brasil. Trata-se de um relato de experiência em que foram realizadas rodas de conversa e dinâmicas como ferramentas para comunicação e integração do grupo, além de atividades entre os acadêmicos e a equipe da Unidade Básica de Saúde. Os resultados mostram como foi realizado o processo de territorialização; as ações foram construídas em conjunto com os preceptores, acadêmicos, tutores e profissionais e divididas em 4 eixos: tecnologias de cuidado, educação permanente, gestão do trabalho e participação popular. A Unidade Básica de Saúde apresentou grandes mudanças e avanços no que diz respeito à organização, melhor cobertura e fluxo dos atendimentos, além de obter maior participação popular nas atividades coletivas e adesão das gestantes ao pré-natal. Concluiu-se que a Rede Cegonha pode ser considerada um laço materno-infantil entre a política e a saúde da mulher e não se caracteriza como programa, mas sim como um conjunto de ações que visam à melhoria da atenção dirigida às mulheres e às crianças.
