Abstract-The present study investigated the correlation between Transition I with victory in volleyball matches. The 2002 South-American Youth Men's Championship was recorded and the Transition I was analyzed and classified as negative, null or positive. Results of the efficiency in Transition I was calculated using t test for independent samples and compared to the efficiency between teams during each set and matches. Spearman correlation assessed the relationship between efficiency in each set and results of the matches with the final ranking in the championship. The results showed that the winning teams exhibited higher efficiency in Transition I, as well as a positive relationship of higher efficiency in Transition I with all of their results. The higher efficiency in Transition I is related to victory in volleyball matches. This study aimed to analyze how situational constraints (lifter distance to attackers and blockers) influenced a volleyball setter’s distribution after reception that allow an organized attack with all attack options and the relationship between the attack tempo and the effect of the attack according to the setting location. The sample comprised 22 games in the 2018 Men's Volleyball World Championship. The results showed that there was a difference in the distribution while considering the distance between the setter and the striker in position 4 [χ2 (4) = 28.657; p <0.001], the striker in position 6 [χ2 (4) = 23.828; p <0.001], the blocker in position 4 [χ2 (4) = 16.566; p = 0.002] and there was an effect of the attack tempo on the effect of attacks performed by position 6 [χ2 (3) = 15.438; p = 0.001]. From these findings, it is clear that the setter's decision-making is related to the ecological dynamics of the game and to situational constraints, with the availability of attackers influencing the setter's distribution and setting, along with the layout of the adversary’s blocking system.
This study investigated the effects of group goals difficulty on volleyball jump topspin serve reception with 36 experienced volleyball players. The volunteers performed an initial evaluation, whose results were organized in accordance to the level of performance and them divided into three similar groups: no goal, 10% and 30% group goal difficulty. Volunteers performed 810 receptions divided in 10 sessions during acquisition phase whose performance was scored from zero to 14 points. On retention test, the 30% of goal difficulty showed higher performance accuracy than 10% or no goal at all.
The Motor Behavior (MB) area investigates the neuropsychological processes of the organization of the motor response in terms of learning, control and motor development from which three research sub-areas emerged called Motor Learning (ML), Motor Control (MC) and Motor Development (MD). This study aimed to describe the intellectual production in the sub-areas ML, MC and MD in 2018 and to identify the current profile of the MB area. The intellectual production in the sub-areas of the MB was organized, by stratum, type of task and adherence with the CAPES area 21 journals. There were 53 articles published by 51 researchers in the MB area linked to Postgraduate programs in Physical Education in 2018. The distribution of articles by sub-areas was represented by 30.18% ML, 54.72% MC and 15.10% MD. The MC sub-area presented 86% of articles published in the upper stratum, the ML sub-area with 37%, followed by the MD sub-area with 13%. The average of the three sub-areas resulted in 83.02% of studies with a simple task and only 16.98% with a complex task. The greater number of publications with low adherence combined with the greater number of researches with simple tasks seems to demonstrate the researchers' difficulty in approaching the knowledge produced in the area of MB for undergraduate students in Physical Education.
