O objetivo desse estudo foi analisar a função muscular isocinética e a capacidade funcional de membros inferiores em atletas de futsal. Esse estudo transversal e descritivo foi formado por atletas de futsal profissional adulto, do sexo masculino, com idades entre 18 e 40 anos, praticantes de futsal por pelos menos 3 meses em treinamento regular. A função muscular dos atletas foi avaliada por meio de um dinamômetro isocinético (Biodex System Pro 4™), no qual foram avaliados os músculos extensores e flexores de joelho, na velocidade de 60°/s, em modo concêntrico e excêntrico. A capacidade funcional dos atletas foi avaliada por meio dos testes funcionais: single hop test, timed hop test e side hop test. Foi possível identificar um alto percentual de atletas com assimetria muscular unilatral do lado dominante (69,25%), seguido do não-dominante (58,33%). Além disso, a potência muscular lateral (avaliada pelo side hop test) e a potência muscular excêntrica dos isquiotibiais foram melhores no lado não dominante do que no lado dominante. Foi encontrado um percentual expressivo de atletas de futsal com assimetrias musculares unilaterais e déficits de potência muscular no lado dominante. Esses achados se configuram como importantes fatores de risco para o desenvolvimento de lesões musculoesqueléticas nesses atletas, e estratégias preventivas devem ser fomentados.
