RESUMOObjetivo: descrever as principais condutas não recomendadas para a assistência durante o trabalho de parto e parto que identificam violência obstétrica no interior do Estado do Pará. Método: estudo transversal descritivo com abordagem quantitativa. Dados sociodemográficos e de assistência ao parto foram obtidos através de entrevistas com 96 mulheres em período puerperal, realizadas em unidades de atenção primária à saúde em novembro de 2016. A identificação da violência obstétrica foi baseada nas recomendações de assistência ao trabalho de parto e parto da Organização Mundial da Saúde. Para análise dessas condutas utilizou-se frequências absolutas e relativas no programa SPSS Statistics 20. Resultados: todas as participantes relataram condutas que caracterizam a violência obstétrica. Menos de 50% estiveram felizes e realizadas no pós-parto imediato. As condutas mais frequentes foram falas desrespeitosas (69.8%), repreensão (67.7%), proibição do acompanhante (54.9%), ausência de contato pele a pele e amamentação (65,6%) e intervenções obstétricas sem consentimento esclarecido (100%), sendo posição de decúbito (77.1%), jejum (62.5%), toques vaginais (57.3%), amniotomia (56,3%), medicações (52,2%) e manobra de Kristeller (43.8%) as mais apontadas. Conclusões: a alta frequência de condutas prejudiciais citadas pelas mulheres demonstra a ocorrência da violência obstétrica nos hospitais do município e revelam um modelo de atendimento tecnicista distante da assistência humanizada recomendada pela Organização Mundial da Saúde.
