Cette étude représente la deuxième partie d'une recherche sur les Bolivinitidae du Tertiaire des bassins sédimentaires du Golfe de Gui- née. Les échantillons utilisés proviennent de plusieurs sondages réa¬ lisés par AGIP, ELF-AQUITAINE et PETROFINA à terre et en mer dans les bassins de Côte d'Ivoire-Ghana, Nigéria-Cameroun, Gabon, Congo et Angola. 35 espèces ont été sélectionnées et photographiées au MEB. Dans cette étude la taxonomie, l'évolution et les variations morphologiques des principales espèces et sous-espèces sont discutées.
La répartition stratigraphique des espèces dans les différents bassins paraît étroitement liée aux mouvements eustatiques et aux modifications des masses d'eaux qui se sont produits dans l'Atlantique du Sud durant le Tertiaire.
La disparition ou la présence sporadique de quelques espèces dans l'Oligocène sont liées au hiatus sédimentaire de cet âge reconnu dans plusieurs bassins et qui paraît lié au soulèvement glacio-eustatique ayant affecté à partir de l'Eocène, presque toute la marge continentale ouest-africaine.

L'évolution morphologique observée dans les principaux groupes d'espèces est influencée parties facteurs paléoécologiques, les plus importants étant la salinité, la profondeur et surtout le taux d'oxygène.
Les variations morphologiques les plus remarquables ont été observées chez les espèces de la plate-forme continentale. Ces variations concernent l'ornementation, la densité des pores, le rapport longueur/largeur. Les espèces typiques des «faciès bassin» sont morphologiquement plus constantes.
Les changements faunistiques les plus importants correspondent à la transgression du Paléocène, à la phase régressive de l'Eocène-Oligocène et à la transgression du Miocène inférieur moyen.
