Resumen Identificar e interpretar prácticas de discriminación racial, es un asunto complejo. En el presente se expone un análisis de un trabajo etnográfico con personas migrantes racializadas en el contexto de la ciudad española de Madrid. En concreto se trata de una aproximación a las formas retóricas que las personas tienen para explicar que han experimentado prácticas de discriminación racistas. En ese sentido, más allá de las prácticas espectaculares de discriminación como agresiones u ofensas discursivas, voy a detenerme en aquellos relatos que hablan de prácticas más ambiguas, más encubiertas; para ver cómo construyen subjetivamente aquello que perciben como objetivo.
El impulso de los derechos humanos universales trajo consigo la idea de que el racismo y las discriminaciones son asuntos que deben ser enfrentados por los estados. Este pensamiento no solo ha traído a nuestros días la exigencia de desarrollar políticas y legislaciones, sino también la obligatoriedad de poner en marcha órganos nacionales que desarrollen acciones y establezcan medidas para el estudio y el diagnóstico con el fin de garantizar la no discriminación de todas las personas que residen en sus territorios. En este marco, el presente artículo pone de relieve algunos resultados derivados de la exploración y análisis de fuentes escritas relacionadas con las discriminaciones raciales elaboradas por el Estado español en las últimas dos décadas. El texto pretende hacer un acercamiento al modelo de investigación y diagnóstico llevado a cabo en la lucha contra las discriminaciones, con la intención de conocer cuáles son las principales perspectivas teórico-metodológicas implementadas, además de señalar algunas de las limitaciones y vacíos que estos modelos de investigación presentan. En particular, el análisis advierte sobre la necesidad de dar un giro a los modelos, ya que, en vez de captar la complejidad y diversidad que adquieren las prácticas de discriminación racial, acaban por reinstalar y perpetuar el silencio y la invisibilidad de algunas experiencias racistas.
