En este estudio se analizó el conocimiento y las opiniones de docentes y estudiantes activos del programa de Administración Industrial de la Universidad de Cartagena sobre la pertinencia del plan curricular vigente, para contribuir a la mejora del modelo curricular a través de la formulación de recomendaciones. Para ello, se revisaron los documentos institucionales, el Proyecto Educativo del Programa de Administración Industrial –PEP- y los pensum del año 2004 y 2015. Se aplicaron cuestionarios a una muestra representativa de docentes y de estudiantes para indagar sobre el conocimiento y la apreciación sobre cada pensum vigente. Los resultados muestran que los estudiantes que desarrollan el antiguo pensum lo conocen más que los estudiantes del nuevo; sin embargo, su conocimiento no es profundo para ambos grupos. Respecto a docentes, la mayoría conoce la propuesta curricular y, finalmente, tanto los docentes como estudiantes tienen apreciaciones positivas, en general, respecto a la pertinencia de ambos planes. Para el caso de docentes, la apreciación de pertinencia fue mayor para el pensum 2015.
