Sustained release of active interferon-α (IFN-α) has been achieved from core-shell nanoparticles (NPs) prepared by aqueous precipitation of IFN-α-enriched human serum albumin (HSA-IFN-α) and layer-by-layer (L-b-L) by coating of the IFN-α NPs with poly(sodium-4-styrene) sulphonate (PSS) and chitosan (Chit). The concentration and the pH of HSA solution were optimized during the development of this method. Dynamic light scattering (DLS), zeta-potential, thermal analysis (differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and termogravimetry (TG)), Xray diffraction (XRD), IFN-α activity and morphology (transmission electron microscope (TEM)) studies were used to control the preparation and analyse the products. The dissolution kinetics of NPs was measured in vitro over 7 days in Hanson dissolution tester with Millex membrane. In vivo studies in Pannon white rabbit detected steady IFN-α plasma level for 10 days after subcutaneous injection administration of the HSA-IFN-α NPs. The IFN-α plasma concentration was detected by using the enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) method. In the present paper we discuss the preparation method, the optimization steps and the results of in vitro and in vivo release studies. It was established that 76.13% HSA-IFN-α are encapsulated in the core-shell NPs.
PITFALL TRAPPING ARACHNOLOGICAL SURVEY IN THE EDUCATIONAL FOREST OF ÁSOTTHALOM AbstractDuring our research we surveyed the ground-dwelling spider fauna of the Educational Forest of Ásotthalom by pitfall trapping. The research was conducted from March to October in 2014. We collected data from three different habitats with 2 sampling sites for each: oak forest, pine forest and clearing. Our goals were to assess the ground-dwelling spider assemblages of the habitats, compare their spider fauna, determine their naturalness and examine their basic community-ecological indices. According to our data, species-and specimen number and diversity can separate the three habitats. The originality of the survey area is good, especially the clearings'. The forest and forest-edge inhabiting species were more abundant in the woodlands, while the open and dry conditions preferring species were more frequent in the clearings.
Artificial gap openings cause significant changes in vegetation structure (in every forest level), thereby greatly influencing arthropod communities. Our study compared the data of two common forest floor arthropod groups, ground beetles (Coleoptera: Carabidae) and ground-dwelling spiders (Araneae) from two artificial gaps situated in a turkey oak forest. Our surveys were carried out in the Gyöngyös-plain, in Hungary. Sampling of the arthropod communities was done with pitfall traps arranged in two 70 m long transects, along the longitudinal axis of the gaps, with 15 traps in each transect, 5 m from each other. We measured the quantity and quality of the deadwood lying around within a radius of 2.5 m of each trap. We observed that the species and numbers of spider specimens were higher in the inner parts of the transects (in the gaps), while the numbers of ground beetle specimens declined in the same traps. Furthermore, the Shannon and Simpson diversity values of the ground beetles were generally lower than those of the spiders. The ordinations showed a distinct influence of the gaps on the communities. The numbers of specimens of exclusively edge-associated species were also higher in the gaps. The correlation analysis indicated significant positive correlations between the number of ground beetles and spiders and the quantity of deadwood. In addition, there were significant negative correlations between the numbers of species of both groups and the rate of decay of deadwood. Abbrevations: Gb -Ground beetles; Sp -Spiders, BC -Bray-Curtis, SE -Standard Error, SD -Standard Deviation, H' -Shannon diversity, D 1 -Simpson diversity. Nomenclature: Platnick (2018) for spiders, Müller-Motzfeld (2004) for ground beetles, Simon (2000) for plants.
A párhuzamos felmérések adatai alapján megállapítottuk, hogy a három vizsgálati terület közül a két, magterületen belül kijelölt lombos élőhely pókfaunája elég hasonlónak mutatkozott, míg a védőzónában kijelölt lucos mintaterületeké ezektől valamelyest eltért. Kulcsszavak: Araneae, talajfelszín közeli pók közösség.
