TAE in patients with PPH is safe and has no major short- or long-term side effects. A patient managed with TAE can expect return of normal menses and preservation of future fertility and successful pregnancies. PPH after cesarean section might need to be embolized with metallic coils in addition to Gelfoam in order to achieve secure hemostasis.
Our proposed methods of adjusting the applied tube charge (mAs-value) in relation to the size of the patient can be used on the vast majority of CT systems. The potential for dose reduction is great, especially for small patients.
This study shows that the individual mean effective dose to patients undergoing CT urography has decreased by 60%, from 29.9/22.5 (F/M) mSv in 1997 to 11.7/8.8 (F/M) mSv in 2008.
The quality of the 3D reconstructions from RA was degraded by beam-hardening and sampling artifacts. The sampling artifacts were diminished by increasing both the rotation angle and the number of projections. The distortions in the 3D reconstructions caused by beam-hardening remain to be resolved. The threshold values also had a considerable influence on the 3D reconstructions.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
