Objetivo: Identificar o perfil epidemiológico, os sintomas mais prevalentes, principais limitações físicas e as repercussões psicológicas das exacerbações na vida das crianças asmáticas atendidas em ambulatório de referência do interior da Bahia. Métodos: Pesquisa quali-quantitativa, caso controle, no qual os dados foram coletados no período de janeiro a setembro de 2019, em ambulatório de referência em asma. Resultados: Dos pacientes asmáticos analisados 63,2% (n=67) têm história de internação por conta da asma, sendo que o número de internações variou entre duas a cinco, apesar de apenas 3,8% necessitarem de Unidade de Terapia Intensiva (UTI). Entre as principais doenças associadas à asma, destacam-se rinite alérgica 90,6% (n=96), dermatite atópica 43,3% (n=46) e a hipertrofia de adenoide 31,1% (n=33). Considerações finais: Há clara associação entre um prejuízo na qualidade de vida e a asma, com maior comprometimento da qualidade de vida nos pacientes asmáticos, comparado aos pacientes saudáveis.
A Cirurgia bariátrica tem sido uma opção de muitas pessoas que visam superar a obesidade e garantir qualidade de vida e saúde. No entanto, casos de complicações clínicas após operação tem ocorrido, sendo comum a incidência de alcoolismo. Este estudo teve como objetivo refletir sobre as causas da incidência de alcoolismo entre pacientes que foram submetidos a cirurgias bariátricas. Para o alcance dessa finalidade, realizou-se uma revisão sistemática de literatura, selecionando-se fontes das bases de dados Scielo Brasil, PubMed e Biblioteca Virtual em Saúde (BVS), publicados em língua portuguesa, nos anos de 2017 a 2022. Realizando-se a análise dos dados concluiu-se que o transtorno do uso de álcool em pessoas submetidas à cirurgia bariátrica tem sido recorrente, especialmente entre homens de baixa renda e que fizeram a cirurgia do tipo bypass gástrico. Observou-se também que o consumo de álcool é maior no pós-operatório e que boa parte dos pacientes que se submeteu a esse tipo de cirurgia ignorava o risco de desenvolver o referido transtorno. Em função disso, boa parte dos estudos que integraram esta revisão reconhece a necessidade do acompanhamento, pela equipe de saúde, dos pacientes logo após a cirurgia bariátrica e a adesão desses ao tratamento devido, visando prevenir o transtorno do uso de álcool.
Objetivo: Compreender o papel da Atenção Primária à Saúde (APS) nos tipos de violência infantil. Revisão bibliográfica: A identificação da violência, principalmente, a física e a psicológica é uma tarefa complicada, já que é vista por muitos como algo comum e não como um problema de saúde pública. Com isso, é papel da equipe da APS, identificar quando o menor está sofrendo violência, independente da natureza, por meio do exame físico e da história clínica. Assim, é importante que o profissional entenda o contexto que a violência está ocorrendo, os fatores de risco e de vulnerabilidade e também os fatores de proteção. Após isto intervir de forma a trazer um melhor bem-estar para a criança ou adolescente. Normalmente, a detecção fica mais fácil quando o profissional tem mais contato com a família, podendo, assim, compreender melhor a dinâmica familiar. Considerações finais: A APS tem um papel fundamental na identificação dos casos de violência, por meio de uma equipe multidisciplinar, atuando de forma conjunta para trazer um melhor conforto e desenvolvimento físico e emocional para a criança e adolescente.
