Objetivo: caracterizar as mulheres em situação de violência atendidas no Centro de Referência e Atendimento à Mulher Geny Lehnen, Parobé/RS. Metodologia: estudo quantitativo, do tipo transversal, realizado no período de agosto/2013 a julho/2015, mediante análise documental nas fichas de acolhimento e registros de atendimento de 133 usuárias. Os dados foram analisados por estatística descritiva. Resultados: a maioria das mulheres tinha entre 18 e 49 anos (79,8%), era branca (69,9%), com ensino fundamental incompleto (47,4%) e trabalhadoras da indústria (27,1%). O principal agressor foi companheiro/ex-companheiro (85%); identificaram-se violências associadas (65,4%), sendo a física mais perpetrada (54,9%). Em 39 fichas, havia registro do uso de medicamento contínuo, destacando-se o psicotrópico (79,5%). Conclusão: considera-se que os resultados podem contribuir para evidenciar a violência de gênero, fazendo-se necessários novos estudos relacionando o uso de psicotrópicos em mulheres em situação de violência. The main aggressor of the women were their partners/ex partners (85%); associated violence was identified (65,4%), physical violence is the most committed (54,9%). There were 39 records of the use of medication of continuous usage, especially the psychotropic (79,5%). Resultados: La mayoría de las mujeres tenían entre 18 y 49 años (79,8%) eran de raza blanca (69,9%), con educación primaria incompleta (47,4%) y trabajadores de la industria (27,1%). El autor principal fue pareja / ex pareja (85%); se asoció identificó a la violencia (65,4%) siendo el físico más perpetrado (54,9%). En 39 registros, se registró el uso de medicación continua, especialmente la droga psicotrópica (79,5%). Conclusión: Se considera que los resultados pueden contribuir a poner de relieve la violencia de género, por lo que es necesario nuevos estudios que vinculan el uso de drogas psicotrópicas en las mujeres en situación de violencia.Descriptores: Violencia contra las mujeres.
