Improving the Ability to Read Poetry with the Audiovisual Media Assisted Peer Tutor Method in Grade VI Elementary Schools. The purpose of this study was to improve the ability to read poetry by applying the peer tutoring method assisted by audiovisual media in class VI SD. Based on the analysis of data about the ability to read poetry students have done shows that in the initial conditions the average value of 64.3 with a classical completeness of 25.71%. After the implementation of the first cycle using the peer tutor method obtained increased results, the average value of students was 72.4 with a classical completeness of 60%. From the acquisition of the first cycle the researchers followed up on the second cycle and gained an increase, the average value of the cycle II was 81.3 with a classical completeness of 85.71%, it can be concluded that by using the peer tutoring method assisted by audiovisual media can improve the ability to read poetry of students in class VI B.Keywords: Poetry Reading Ability, Peer Tutor Method, Audiovisual MediaAbstrak: Peningkatan Kemampuan Membaca Puisi Dengan Metode Tutor Sebaya Berbantu Media Audiovisual di Kelas VI SD. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan kemampuan membaca puisi dengan menerapkan metode tutor sebaya berbantu media audiovisual pada siswa kelas VI SD. Berdasarkan analisis data tentang kemampuan membaca puisi siswa yang telah dilakukan menunjukkan bahwa pada kondisi awal nilai rata-rata 64,3 dengan ketuntasan secara klasikal 25,71%. Setelah pelaksanaan pada siklus I dengan menggunakan metode tutor sebaya diperoleh hasil yang meningkat, nilai rata-rata siswa adalah 72,4 dengan ketuntasan secara klasikal 60%, Dari perolehan siklus I peneliti menindaklanjut pada siklus II dan memperoleh peningkatan, nilai rata-rata pada siklus II adalah 81,3 dengan ketuntasan klasikal 85,71%, dapat disimpulkan bahwa dengan menggunakan metode tutor sebaya berbantu media audiovisualdapat meningkatkan kemampuan membaca puisi siswa di kelas VI B.Kata Kunci : Kemampuan Membaca Puisi, Metode Tutor Sebaya, Media Audiovisual
