O eritema nodoso (EN) caracteriza-se clinicamente pelo surgimento agudo de nódulos cutâneos eritematosos e dolorosos principalmente na região pré-tibial. Possui diversas etiologias inclusive medicamentos como os anticoncepcionais, dado o fato do estrogênio e da progesterona associarem-se a reações de hipersensibilidade tardia e formação de imunocomplexos. O diagnóstico dessa rara condição baseia-se na anamnese e exame físico minuciosos. Todavia, em casos de dúvida ou apresentações atípicas, deve-se realizar a biópsia incisional profunda com amostra completa da hipoderme para diagnóstico definitivo da paniculite septal. O presente artigo foi elaborado em formato de estudo de caso e utilizou dados qualitativos coletados a partir de eventos reais, após aprovação pelo comitê de ética em pesquisa. O objetivo deste trabalho foi contribuir com a disseminação científica dos achados, visto que a relação entre o uso de anticoncepcionais orais e o surgimento de eritema nodoso é um assunto pouco explorado nas bases de dados científicas. Utilizou-se como ponto de partida o prontuário da paciente fornecido pela médica após assinatura do consentimento por escrito da própria paciente. O presente relato aborda os aspectos clínicos do EN, o manejo da investigação etiológica e o tratamento.
O presente estudo tem o objetivo de refletir acerca do agir em saúde, analisando as políticas públicas existentes voltadas para a população idosa. Assim, o norte da discussão é a capacitação dos profissionais de saúde e da assistência social no acolhimento dos idosos. Destarte, os profissionais são os responsáveis, direta e indiretamente, pela realização de um cuidado em saúde seguro, ético e com qualidade, sendo, portanto, agentes viabilizadores da efetivação das Políticas Públicas de Saúde dirigidas às pessoas idosas. Assim, o artigo revelou o desafio dos profissionais da saúde em realizar o cuidado integral e humanizado com a pessoa idosa, carecendo de fortalecimento da atenção voltada a essa parcela da população, em especial, no que tange ao agir em saúde, vislumbrando um envelhecimento com qualidade de vida.
