Responsive catalytic hybrid nanogels with Au nanoparticle cores and a polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) based gel shell are prepared through a novel one-pot approach. The embedded Au nanoparticles demonstrate both a pH-modulated catalytic activity and anti-aggregation properties upon recycling.
Treatment of OsCl 2 (PPh 3 ) 2 (CHC(PPh 3 )-CH(OH)-η 2 -CCH) (1) with PPh 3 and Bu 4 NCl in CH 2 Cl 2 under air gave paramagnetic osmacyclopentene [OsCl 2 (PPh 3 ) 2 (CHC(PPh 3 )CH(OH)C(CH(PPh 3 )))] Cl (5). Heating the suspension of 5 in CH 2 Cl 2 under a nitrogen atmosphere led to the formation of η 2 -allenecoordinated osmacycle OsCl 2 (PPh 3 )(CHC(PPh 3 )CH CCH(P(C 6 H 4 )Ph 2 )) (6) and chloro-osmabenzene OsCl 2 (PPh 3 ) 2 (CHC(PPh 3 )CHCClCH) (7) via disproportionation reaction. Oxidative transformation of 5 under an oxygen atmosphere yielded osmafuran [OsCl(PPh 3 ) 2 (CHC-(PPh 3 )CHO)(CC(PPh 3 ))]Cl (10). In addtion, complexes 6, 7, and 10 can also undergo ligand substitution reactions with NaSCN to afford more stable analogues.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
