ABSTRAKSpektroskopi merupakan ilmu yang mempelajari interaksi antara radiasi gelombang dan materi. Dalam aplikasinya, spektroskopi digunakan untuk sarana observasi dan mempelajari karakteristik suatu bahan melalui pola spektrumnya. Dalam penelitian ini dibuat desain spektrometer transmisi dengan mengunakan keping VCD dan dua jenis sumber cahaya yaitu lampu pijar dan lampu TL. Larutan MnCl2 dengan konsentrasi 0, 1, 2, dan 3 M digunakan sebagai sampel uji terhadap intensitas citra yang dihasilkan yang kemudian dianalisa dengan perangkat lunak Image-J. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terjadi interaksi antara cahaya dengan larutan dengan indikasi penurunan nilai intensitas citra yang terdeteksi.

In its application, spectroscopy has been used to observe and study the characteristics of a matter through its resulted spectrums. In this research, spectrometer was built with VCD chip and two kind of lamp sources, incandescent and fluorescent lamp. The MnCl2 solutions with concentration 0, 1, 2, and 3 M were used as sample. Image-J software was used to analysis the resulted spectrums. The results showed an interaction between rays and the solution with indication the image intensity decreased.
