In order to research the geogrid technology to improve the tailings dam stability, the paper introduces the mechanism of the geogrid reinforcing tailings dam and the simulation principle of the geogrids unit.It also introduces a calculation example. It uses the FLAC3D software to make a comparative study for the dam stability when geogrids reinforcing dam or no reinforcement. The result shows that: The X displacement value is reduced after reinforcement, but far from reinforced area X displacement is not change. It shows that the reinforcement effection appears at the reinforcement surrounding area. There is a little change about the landslide face after reinforced, which is more closer near early dam from the beach top. The safety coefficient rise from 1.69 to 2.37.The reinforcement effection is in good working order. The paper can provide some reference and instruction to the tailings dam safety.
In order to evaluate the damage evolution of rock under external loading, the surface
deformation field of a rectangle marble specimen is inspected and analyzed using digital speckle
correlation method (DSCM). Experimental results show that the damage evolution of rock
undergoes 3 stages: they are uniformly distributed damage, localized damage and catastrophic
failure stage. A statistic indicator, standard deviation of the strain field, can be used to quantitatively
express the damage localization level.
In order to study the tensile failure of rock bridge, the finite element software which can simulate the cracking of pull and tensile stress was used to simulate the tensile failure process of rock bridge with multi-crack. The general finite element software can only simulation continuous medium, in this paper we succeeded in discontinuous problem with this finite element software. Reach a conclusion of the rupture results of rock bridge in rock mass with multi-crack under the conditions of uniaxial compression, and the law of the stress distribution in the process of destruction.
In order to search for the control factors of slope stability containing weak layers, combining with the methods of the finite element and the limit equilibrium to simulate the slope stability problems. From the numerical simulation results, the stress field distribution and displacement field distribution internal the slope could be got. According to the finite element analysis results and the safety factor of slope stability got with the limit equilibrium method, evaluate the slope stability. By the simulation analysis of slope which contains a number of weak structural surfaces, the conclusion we got is that the existence of weak structural plane like weak layers and faults are the main factors of slope instability.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
