Sterically Hindered 1,4-Methylenebenzoquinones in the Synthesis of Six-Membered N,O,S, and Se Containing Heterocycles.-The conversion of the readily obtained 1,4-methylenebenzoquinones (IV) into isochromenes (cf. (V)), isoquinolines (cf. (VI)) and 2-thia( selena)naphthalenes (cf. (VII)) is described. The thus obtained isoquinoline derivatives possess high antioxidizing activity.-(KOMISSAROV, V. N.; UKHIN, L.
