The delayed fluorescence of the soft X-ray (ls-2p) transition was observed for H-like ions (O 7+ and F 8+) between 1.3ns and 20ns decay time after beam-foil excitation. The delayed X-ray fluorescence was found to decay with a t -a power law time dependence. The non-exponential decay is attributed to cascading through higher lying states. We found that Ao=1.40+_0.08 and AF=1.44_+0.02 for H-like oxygen and fluorine, respectively. Present results are in fair agreement with the previously reported exponent, A o = 1.5, measured over 3 ns after excitation.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
