Neste trabalho avaliou-se o efeito da variação do material da partícula e do pH inicial da solução eletrolítica sobre a eficiência de remoção de cor e consumo energético de um reator eletroquímico com anodo particulado aplicado ao tratamento de efluentes coloridos. Foram utilizadas partículas de aço e alumínio como anodo e pH inicial 3 e 8. Observou-se que os maiores valores de remoção foram alcançados quando da utilização do menor valor de pH inicial (ácido) e, dentre os dois tipos de partículas utilizados, o aço levou às maiores eficiências de remoção. Quando se considera o consumo energético por grama de corante removido (CE/g), a vantagem no uso de pH inicial ácido e de partículas de aço se mantém, mas, nesse caso, fica mais evidente o efeito do material das partículas, uma vez que, ao se usar as partículas de aço, para qualquer pH os valores obtidos de CE/g foram significativamente menores do que ao se utilizar as partículas de alumínio.
