Intertransitions of inhibition and catalysis are discussed. The mechanism of inhibited hydrogen oxidation is analysed and the contribution from individual elementary processes responsible for the catalytic action of hydrogen bromide is considered. Numerical analysis of complete sets of kinetic equations shows that catalysis is due to two consecutive elementary processes HBr+ H02 --+ H20,+ Br Br+ H2 --+ HBr+ H The initial HBr regenerates here and a new H atom is formed.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
