Coincidence measurements of the absolute cross section for the production of bremsstrahlung by electrons in the field of gold atoms are reported. The incident electron energy T o was 300keV. Measurements were made for four different combinations of electron scattering angle and photon emission angle over a wide range of the relative photon energy kiT o up to k/To=0.83. The measured cross sections are compared with results of Bethe-Heitler and Elwert-Haug calculations
Backscattering coefficients for Z=13, 29, 48, 82 were redetermined with a large area proportional counter containing an insensitive tube passed by the incident beam. Results confirm our previous experience and semiempirical formula. Dressel has recently identified errors in his deviating values
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
