En Nicaragua la falta de información sociodemográfica actualizada a nivel de ciudades, municipios, territorios, comunidades, sectores y barrios constituye una limitante para la realización de estudios sobre las características de desarrollo local y territorial y así proponer acciones basadas en evidencias que sean más eficientes y que contribuyan al bienestar de la sociedad, aun cuando los actores institucionales existentes en los territorios tengan claro lo que desean. Esta investigación tuvo como objetivo caracterizar la economía del municipio de León desde la perspectiva planteada por Rodríguez (2015), respecto a las dimensiones de innovación y de interrelación de los sectores económicos del municipio (Modelo Sectorial-Territorial). El estudio se basó en la teoría del desarrollo endógeno, utiliza la clasificación sectorial propuesta por el Instituto Nacional de Información de Desarrollo (INIDE) el cual propone 10 sectores económicos y tiene un enfoque cuantitativo, dado que se realizaron 20 entrevistas a informantes calificados y actores económicos locales para posteriormente cuantificar sub índices e índices propuestos por el modelo, e identificar si el municipio se clasifica en Desarrollo Bajo DB, Desarrollo Defensivo DD, Desarrollo Sectorial DS o Desarrollo Territorial DT. Los resultados muestran que el 50.8% del empleo formal se encuentra concentrado en sectores con DS (industria manufacturera, financiero, electricidad, gas y agua, agricultura, ganadería) el 36.5% en sectores de Desarrollo Defensivo (servicios comunales, sociales y personales, hoteles y restaurantes) y el 12.7% en sectores con Desarrollo Bajo (pesca, minas y canteras, comercio al por mayor y por menor, transporte, almacenamiento y comunicaciones). Finalmente, la economía de León se encuentra en DB (1.56,1) con perspectiva a trasladarse hacia un DD, el cual concentra el empleo formal en actividades con altos niveles de innovación pero con poca relación importante con el resto de la economía local.
El estudio de las operaciones bancarias en el análisis del crecimiento económico de un país es relevante, por lo que este trabajo analiza el crecimiento económico en dependencia de las variables: Cartera de Crédito y Depósitos Bancarios, respaldado con la “Teoría de Desarrollo Financiero y Crecimiento Económico”, planteada por Schumpeter (1912). Los resultados se muestran mediante un modelo econométrico caracterizado por ser una función Log-log que expone la influencia que tienen dichas variables para el período 2007 - 2018 en Nicaragua, mediante la utilización del método de Mínimos Cuadrados Ordinarios (MCO) dando respuesta al planteamiento de los objetivos propuestos. La tendencia mostrada por las variables cartera de crédito y depósitos bancarios es positiva con leves desaceleraciones entre periodos; el PIB Real demuestra ser dinámico con tendencia creciente durante el periodo de estudio, no obstante, la tasa de crecimiento ha registrado fluctuaciones a lo largo del mismo, debido a acontecimientos de contexto macroeconómico internacional y nacional. En términos de montos, las mayores colocaciones de crédito durante el periodo fueron dirigidas al sector comercial; respecto a la composición de los depósitos, los depósitos a la vista han concentrado en promedio anual el 46.3% de los depósitos totales. En el modelo econométrico se refleja el aporte significativo de las variables cartera de crédito, depósitos bancarios al crecimiento económico. El modelo es significativo a un nivel de confianza del 95%, cumpliendo los supuestos de MCO. Los resultados obtenidos concluyen el cumplimiento de la teoría ya que la capitalización del mercado y el acceso a fuentes de financiamiento impulsan al crecimiento económico del país.
Reyes (2013) plantea la “Teoría de desarrollo” (1940-1950) la cual percibe el subdesarrollo como un fenómeno que incide en todas las esferas al interior de las sociedades. La existencia de casos regionales identifica que la industrialización transforma la estructura productiva y proporciona empleo de mayor productividad. Por lo que este estudio explica el empleo formal en occidente del país por el saldo de cartera de crédito agrícola y el valor agregado del sector manufacturero, estimación realizada con datos oficiales del Banco Central de Nicaragua (BCN). Chinandega y León participan en la generación de empleo formal nicaragüense (2018) como el segundo y tercer departamento que mayor aportan a esta variable. La agricultura y la manufactura en comparación a las otras actividades económicas, permite identificar participación al empleo formal a partir de 26.26% en León y 41.09% en Chinandega según datos del Instituto Nacional de Información y Desarrollo (INIDE) (2005; 2006; 2007; 2008; 2009; 2010; 2011; 2012; 2013; 2014; 2015; 2016; 2017; 2018). La evolución de estas variables es creciente a excepción de la inflexión a la baja del 2018 que afectó a los ocupados INSS del occidente del país y al saldo de cartera de crédito al sector agrícola. La estimación econométrica a través de Mínimos Cuadrados Ordinarios generó como resultado que la variable que más aporta al empleo formal del occidente del país es el saldo de cartera de crédito agrícola en millones de córdobas, por lo que en el caso de estos departamentos todavía no se realiza el cambio denominado por Sunkel (1971) como la solución a los problemas del subdesarrollo “la transformación de las sociedades a partir de la modernización de sus sistemas productivos”.
En este artículo se analiza la incidencia del consumo final e inversión bruta en el empleo formal de la economía nicaragüense (2009-2018), respaldado por la teoría keynesiana. Se utilizan datos oficiales del Banco Central de Nicaragua (BCN) y se realiza un análisis correlacional con modelización econométrica a través del método de mínimos cuadrados ordinarios (MCO). La evolución de las variables muestra una tendencia creciente a lo largo del periodo, únicamente en 2018 que sufren un descenso debido a la crisis sociopolítica, a excepción de la inversión bruta, que tiene un comportamiento fluctuante y su mayor descenso fue en 2018. Las actividades económicas que demandaron mayor fuerza laboral fueron servicios comunales, sociales y personales y la industria manufacturera, y que a su vez fueron las actividades que fortalecieron el sector exportador. Tanto el consumo final como la inversión bruta tienen un efecto positivo en el empleo formal; se evidencia el efecto multiplicador del consumo público que permite la variación del consumo final siendo ésta la implementación de una política fiscal expansiva (ceteris paribus), lo que permitió encontrar que el consumo final está dando un mayor aporte que la inversión bruta y ambas dan lugar a la estimulación de la demanda agregada con el fin de aumentar la producción, permitiendo ofertar mayor número de empleos formales.
