Instituição: HOSPITAL GETÚLIO VARGASINTRODUÇÃO: Dentre as doenças gastrintestinais mais comuns, a colelitíase apresenta-se acometendo pacientes jovens, sem comorbidades e assintomáticos em sua maioria, com prevalência podendo alcançar até cerca de 35% da população. Atualmente, a colecistectomia videolaparoscópica é o procedimento padrão para a doença calculosa da vesícula biliar; Desde sua introdução, tem reduzido dramaticamente as taxas de dor pós-operatória, permanência hospitalar e demora para retorno às atividades habituais dos pacientes, apresentando ainda baixa morbimortalidade. OBJETIVO: Determinar as características epidemiológicas dos pacientes submetidos a colecistectomia eletiva em Hospital Público. METODOLOGIA: O estudo teve caráter retrospectivo e quantitativo, e foi aprovado pelo comitê de ética do hospital.Os dados foram obtidos por meio de revisão de dados contidos em prontuário eletrônico disponível de todos os pacientes submetidos a colecistectomias no período de janeiro/2008-março/2016 em hospital público de referência do estado do Piauí. As variáveis estudadas foram: idade, gênero, procedência, tempo de internação e mortalidade pós-operatória. RESULTADOS: A amostra resultou em 3280 pacientes operados. Destes, 81,6% eram do sexo feminino enquanto 18,4%, do masculino; a média de idade total foi de 46,13 anos, com média feminina de 44,8 anos, e a masculina, de 51,9 anos; 1,4% dos pacientes tinham idade menor que 18 anos, 76,1% com idade entre 18 e 60 anos, e 22,3% com idade maior que 60 anos. Quanto à procedência, 66,5% pacientes eram originários da capital do Estado (Teresina/PI), 31,35% do interior do estado, e apenas 2,2% de outros estados. Quanto ao tempo de internação, 57,8% permaneceram por até 02 dias internados, enquanto 41,9% permaneceram por 03 dias ou mais em ambiente hospitalar; destes, 263 tiveram suas internações estendidas por 07 dias ou mais, sendo maioria (68,8%) do sexo feminino, idade média de 47,7 anos e média de internação de 14,5 dias. Quanto à mortalidade pós-operatória, foram registrados 08 óbitos (0,24%), sendo que 06 pacientes eram do sexo feminino, 05 possuíam mais que 60 anos (04 mulheres), e todos eram provenientes do interior do Piauí. CONCLUSÕES: A colecistectomia eletiva realizada no hospital foi procedimento destinado principalmente a pacientes do sexo feminino, adultos com idade entre 18 e 60 anos provenientes principalmente da capital do estado do Piauí, exigindo média de internação de três dias e com baixa mortalidade pós-operatória. Instituição: HGV MNB, do sexo feminino, 85 anos, aposentada e do lar, diabética e hipertensa (ambos controlados com uso de medicações). Apresentou quadro de febre, dor abdominal e icterícia, sendo necessária internação em Unidade de Terapia Intensiva para tratamento de sepse de foco indeterminado. Realizou bateria de exames laboratoriais e de imagem, que sugeriram tanto abscesso hepático, quanto possível neoplasia do mesmo sítio. Foi submetida à laparoscopia diagnóstica e terapêutica que evidenciou intenso bloqueio hepato-gástrico. A região foi dissecada, evidenciando corpo estranho (compatível com possível espinho de peixe) em contato íntimo com parede posterior do estômago e segmento. O corpo estranho foi retirado e o abscesso hepático foi drenado. A paciente evoluiu bem no pós operatório imediato, porém, apresentou quadro clínico e radiológico compatível com pneumonia, necessitando de mais alguns dias de internação hospitalar para tratamento da nova moléstia. Recebeu alta hospitalar em bom estado geral e retornou após uma semana da alta sem queixas.
