Heating of the platinum complex (I) to 325°C in an inert atmosphere affords, after aqueous work‐up, the novel complex (II), containing both Pt(IV) and Pt(II).
Thermolysis of K2(Pt(NO2)4) at 325 °C followed by aqueous work‐up affords the intermediary compound K5(Pt4O3(NO2)9)·3 H2O. An X‐ray analysis of a single crystal reveals that this compound belongs to the space group P1 with Z=2.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
