An Beispielen von Argon, Neon und Wasserstoff wird das Verhältnis der wahren und mittleren Temperaturkoeffizienten erläutert. Letztere, sowie ihre Exponenten lassen sich durch Gleichungen und Kurven charakterisieren, wobei der jeweiligen Bezugstemperatur T0 eine eigene Kurve zukommt. Die Reihenentwicklung der Exponenten erlaubt, größere Bereiche der Temperaturen mit zufriedenstellender Genauigkeit zu überbrücken. Dieses Verfahren eignet sich auch für Gleichungen gemischter Art, wie z. B. die von Sutherland. Die wahren C*‐Größen gemäß
wurden an Hand von Kurven den mittleren C‐Größen gegenübergestellt. Das bei der Reihenentwicklung für den wahren T‐Exponenten bewährte Glied a/(T + a) führt zu der Gleichung
deren b‐Größen sich auf einfache Weise berechnen und durch Geraden veranschaulichen lassen.Wird die Temperaturabhängigkeit der Molwärmen sowie deren Verhältnis γ in derselben Weise wie bei der Viskosität durch Reihenentwicklung ihrer T‐Exponenten erfaßt, so kann z. B. unter Zuhilfenahme der modifizierten Maxwellschen Gleichung der Temperaturkoeffizient der Wärmeleitfähigkeit sowie der Diffusion auf einheitliche Art berechnet werden. Eine Anzahl Viskositätsgleichungen werden diskutiert.
