Composition dependence of the antiferro-distortive phase transition temperature in SrTiO3 was measured by observing the step-wise elastic anomaly for solid solution systems where Sr or Ti were partially substituted with various other ions. The transition temperature T
a
was found to increase or decrease almost linearly with the substitution rate. The amount of shift Δ
T
a
was understood as due to the combined effect of both the lattice-cell-volume effect and the `chemical' effect. The latter effect seems to show the different tendency with regards to the location of the substituting ions either at the Si-site or at the Ti-site.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
