It is difficult to distinguish reactive joint fluid from infectious joint fluid by conventional MR images. In this presented case, we successfully distinguished these two conditions using diffusion-weighted imaging.
Non-traumatic acute myelopathy caused by cervical disc herniation is rare, and no case has been reported which the disease was caused by the extrusion or migration of a cervical disc herniation of contiguously-located two-level disc space. In this report, the disease is described, and the direction of migration and surgical treatment of the disease are discussed.
