O objetivo da pesquisa foi comparar o uso da oclusão vascular com baixas cargas com o fortalecimento convencional com altas cargas na hipertrofia do bíceps braquial. O músculo bíceps braquial e uma forma fusiforme em que o seu ventre é grosso e abolado e suas extremidades finas, este musculo faz parte do antebraço e são os primeiros a definir quando se inicia uma rotina de atividades físicas. A pesquisa, transversal e epidemiológica, realizada em duas academias, para sua execução contou com a aplicação de cargas altas com o objetivo de fortalecimento convencional e o segundo grupo composto por voluntários que utilizaram a oclusão vascular com baixas cargas, durante 3 vezes na semana, tendo duração de 4 semanas para ambos os grupos e que possuam idade igual ou superior a 18 até 45 anos, que treinam regularmente bíceps braquial e que façam academia a pelo menos 6 meses, sendo esse o principal critério a participação e a aplicação do questionário. A metodologia da pesquisa contou com uma abordagem quantitativa. Os resultados adquiridos foram constatações estatísticas intragrupo significativas e houve aumento entre o antes e após realização dos treinos, em ambos os grupos. No grupo oclusão vascular, quanto menor o tempo de treino, maior o ganho. Em conclusão, houve contribuição maior da oclusão vascular na hipertrofia muscular para bíceps braquial, apesar de ambos os grupos terem demonstrados resultados, o treino com oclusão vascular com baixas cargas é tão eficaz quanto à modalidade tradicional com altas cargas.
