A high-level disinfectant, o-phthalaldehyde (OPA), was rapidly removed from water by a thermoresponsive polymer-mediated extraction using polyallylamine-conjugated poly(N-isopropylacrylamide). The use of 1 g of the thermoresponsive polymer allowed nearly complete removal of 130 mg of OPA.
