As pressure increases to open protected municipal watersheds for public access and recreational development, a more complete understanding of the effects of watershed use on water quality becomes imperative. The data presented here detail the impact of limited watershed activities on four once-protected water supply lakes near Halifax, N.S., and form a basis for assessing future changes in water quality resulting from further release of the watersheds.
