RésuméDes événements compressifs sont bien enregistrés par les séries paléogènes de subsurface de l'avant-pays de la Tunisie orientale. Ils s'expriment par des plis, des structures d'inversion, des duplex ainsi que des discordances angulaires détectables par la sismique reflexion. Les événements compressifs débutent au Campanien-Maastrichtien, s'amplifient au Paléocène pour atteindre leur paroxysme au Lutétien-Priabonien, exprimé par la discordance angulaire en toplap de l'Oligocène inférieur. Les séries oligomiocènes marquent, au contraire, une phase de relative quiescence tectonique. Les événements compressifs mis en évidence dans ce travail sont corrélables avec ceux reconnus en Algérie, notamment les deux phases majeures : celles du Maastrichtien-Paléocène et surtout fini-Éocène, qui paraît ainsi être un événement majeur à l'échelle de l'Afrique du Nord.
