Monomeric hemerythrin from the coelom of the sipunculid Golfingia gouldii has been resolved into two components by disc electrophoresis and DEAE-cellulose chromatography. These hemerythrins differ in amino acid composition. The major species which comprises 80-85% of the hemerythrin in pooled blood and 50-100% in individual animals has the amino acid composition and sequence reported previously for G.
