ResumoPesquisa recente tem explorado o uso de tecnologias computacionais de interação tangível no tratamento de crianças com autismo, devido à sua facilidade de uso, maior nível de engajamento, menor esforço cognitivo e riqueza de estímulo. Ao mesmo tempo, tecnologias que promovem este tipo de interação são geralmente configurações complexas de dispositivos físicos, o que representa uma barreira para sua ampla utilização. Para tentar superar esta barreira, os Tablets têm sido uma alternativa para se promover interação tangível. O objetivo desta pesquisa é investigar a possibilidade de se criar uma interface tangível móvel para aplicações, que seja útil, simples e divertida no processo educativo de crianças autistas. Para isso, propusemos, desenvolvemos e avaliamos o uso do Magiblocks, um sistema para atividade de reconhecimento de formas geométricas no qual o usuário interage com um Tablet através de uma interface tangível. Um estudo de caso com duas crianças que frequentam a escola de educação especial onde a ideia do projeto foi concebida ilustra sua utilização. Os resultados obtidos sugerem que o Magiblocks possibilita um bom nível de imersão e engajamento, a ponto de a educadora não precisar intervir muitas vezes para que a criança realize a atividade. Este trabalho contribui nos aspectos técnicos, com a viabilidade do algoritmo que permite o reconhecimento de tokens através do uso de ímãs; nos aspectos acadêmicos e práticos, descrevendo a rotina das atividades das crianças com o Magiblocks, ao longo de cinco meses, mostrando a viabilidade de uma proposta diferente das levantadas na revisão de literatura envolvendo interfaces tangíveis e crianças com autismo e com potencial de benefício no uso real.
