Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi keragaman yang muncul pada populasi padi F2 dari hasil persilangan antara induk tanaman mutan (padi lokal: Rojolele) dengan tanaman mutan (padi hasil iradiasi: Rojolele Srinar dan Rojolele Sriten), dan menghitung nilai heritabilitas serta kemajuan genetik populasi F2 hasil persilangan R. Srinar dengan Rojolele (SIR) dan R. Sriten dengan Rojolele (SER). Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Februari sampai Juli 2021 di rumah kaca dan lahan percobaan Pusat Riset Teknologi Proses Radiasi, Jakarta. Dua populasi F2 hasil persilangan SIR dan SER, dan tiga induk persilangan digunakan dalam penelitian ini. Secara berurutan, sebanyak 221 dan 204 sampel tanaman SIR dan SER, dan sebanyak 16 tanaman yang mewakili masing-masing induk. Penelitian ini menggunakan analisis skewness dan kurtosis untuk melihat pendugaan aksi gen dan jumlah gen pada populasi F2 persilangan SIR dan SER untuk 5 (lima) karakter, yaitu umur berbunga, tinggi tanaman, panjang malai, panjang daun bendera, dan jumlah anakan. Umur berbunga pada F2 persilangan SIR diduga terdapat aksi gen epistatis komplementer dan melibatkan banyak gen, sedangkan pada karakter lainnya dikendalikan sedikit gen dengan beberapa variasi aksi gen. Kemudian, pada F2 persilangan SER hanya pada jumlah anakan yang dikendalikan oleh banyak gen dengan aksi gen Aditif. Untuk nilai ragam genotipe dan fenotipe pada populasi F2 hasil persilangan SIR dan SER ditemukan nilai yang tinggi sehingga dikategorikan memiliki keragaman yang luas. Kelima karakter agronomi populasi F2 persilangan SIR menunjukkan rentang nilai antara 77,91 sampai 96,73 yang termasuk kriteria heritabilitas tinggi. Kritera yang sama juga ditemukan pada persilangan SER dengan rentang 71,58 sampai 99,36. Lebih lanjut, pada persentase kemajuan genetik (KG), semua termasuk berkriteria tinggi, kecuali pada umur berbunga pada F2 SIR, sedangkan KG populasi F2 SER semua karakter tergolong KG sedang kecuali pada karakter panjang daun bendera dan jumlah anakan.
