A questionnaire was distributed to more than 30 company and analyzed by using Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) to test the reliability. The further analyzed was using frequency analysis and descriptive mean test. The findings have important implications for future research direction towards a better performance and capabilities to the organization.
Grassroots innovation is an activity that uses multiple resources or indigenous technology to create an innovation more creatively. The innovations are often utilised to improvise the community and environment. The invented product or process is created at the bottom of the pyramid due to necessities, difficulties, and challenges. Malaysia thrives to become a high income developed nation through several initiatives, such as lifelong learning and innovation. Malaysians are encouraged to undertake education programmes to enhance knowledge and skills. These grassroots activities need to be discovered as they affect income and social values. The local grassroots innovators have difficulty commercialising the innovations due to a lack of skills, knowledge, and technology. This study aimed to identify the grassroots innovations, the process in developing innovation, and complement the innovation towards commercialisation. Local innovators adapt to the new product development process as a mutual understanding and for grassroots sustainable development.
The revolution in art practices has led Malaysian artists to discover greater possibilities in art, especially in terms of media exploration. In this paper, the researchers conducted a study of hybrid art practices among the artworks of selected Malaysian artists. The research objective of this paper is to identify and trace, among the selected artworks, hybrid art practices as a way of creating hybrid artworks. The researchers applied direct observation and extracted the artists’ statements for documentation. The results show that most of the artworks applied modern technology and have an element of interaction with the audience. In addition, media exploration has expanded to technological and scientific knowledge. In conclusion, the diversity of media and the discipline have enabled artists to explore more media when producing creative artworks. These collaborations have expanded to produce new findings and allow new perspectives on disciplines in art.
Historically, in the event of Islam's arrival in the Malay Archipelago, the ways of Islam were adapted to the lifestyle of the Malay community. It's part of modernizing traditional Malay thoughts (akliah) which is influenced by Islamic values and teachings. One of the manifestations of Islamic influence in the traditional Malay lifestyle can be identified from the design and characteristics of Traditional Malay houses, developed with underlying principles of Islam. This paper discusses the application of Islamic principles in Sarawak traditional Malay houses. The research was conducted on three traditional Malay houses chosen from Sarawak and located in Kuching, Sarawak. The methods of observation and case study were employed, focusing on the interior space of the house and certain other design components. In addition, interviews were performed with the owners of the three houses that comprised the samples and focus group discussions with 12 Malay people over 65. The findings indicate that three concepts may be related to Islam's characteristics in Sarawak: the concept of occupant social connections, residential space, and construction and design.

Until now, industrial designers are solely educated with the epistemology of dialectical materialism; meanwhile, the spiritual aspect is often segregated from education affairs. Many kinds of literature highlighted that this segregation could lead to negative impacts. Supposedly as a Muslim, learning about our Creator through Asma’ul Husna is an essential trait to develop designers’ value, also known as sahsiah or characteristic of excellence. Therefore, this paper attempted to study the adaptation of Asma’ul Husna in the existing design practice among Muslim designers and at the same time devote the existent designer’s knowledge and awareness to this understanding. A set of questionnaires were distributed using stratified sampling. The result showed that the majority of the respondents did not adapt Asma’ul Husna in the existing design practice due to limited knowledge on ways to integrate Asma’ul Husna in the design process. Designers who claimed to use Asma’ul Husna in design are either still confused with the usage or only limits the usage to motif and zikr. As an overview, this paper highlights the general view of an adaptation of Asma’ul Husna’s among designers and emphasises the urgency to develop a guideline for designers to implement the values in their design process.
