ResumoA Síndrome da Imunodeficiência Adquirida -AIDS é uma doença crônica, e que causa um sério problema de saúde pública. Serviços como os Centros de Testagem e Aconselhamento (CTAs), acolhem o indivíduo HIV positivo dando todo apoio necessário, para assim iniciar o tratamento e evitar que a carga viral presente no organismo chegue ao seu estágio mais avançado, que é a AIDS. O objetivo do presente estudo foi traçar o perfil epidemiológicos dos portadores HIV atendidos pelo Consórcio Intermunicipal de Saúde entre os Vales do Mucuri e Jequitinhonha (CIS-EVMJ) em Teófilo Otoni-MG, com dados coletados no Serviço de Assistência Especializada (SAE) Ângela Murta. Trata-se de um trabalho descritivo e quantitativo, realizado através da análise coletiva dos 1444 pacientes cadastrados no SAE no período de 1997 a 2018, não havendo contato com os mesmos e nem acesso aos prontuários individuais. Dos casos notificados, 44% (638) estão em tratamento, 25% (357) foram transferidos para outras unidades de acompanhamento, 21% (306) vieram a óbito e 10% (143) abandonaram o tratamento. Verificou-se também entre os pacientes, que a maioria apresenta faixa etária entre 30 e 49 anos, predominando indivíduos do sexo masculino. O estudo do perfil dos pacientes que buscaram atendimento no SAE, auxilia em campanhas de prevenção com o melhor direcionamento para os profissionais de saúde.Palavras-chave: Vírus da Imunodeficiência Humana (HIV); Síndrome da Imunodeficiência Adquirida (AIDS); Epidemiologia.
