A epilepsia é uma condição neurológica que afeta o cérebro e torna os pacientes mais suscetíveis a convulsões recorrentes. Este trabalho tem como objetivo implementar um circuito lógico em FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) para execução de Self-Organizing Maps (SOM) aplicado na previsão de surtos epiléticos a partir de sinais de eletroencefalograma (EEG). Embora similares, as etapas de processamento executadas em hardware não são necessariamente idênticas às executadas em software. Os resultados obtidos foram comparados ao trabalho anterior, o qual implementou os Self-Organizing Maps em software. Os resultados foram similares e o circuito proposto atingiu uma acurácia de 94,53%.
A pesquisa tem como objetivo desenvolver e analisar a funcionalidade da técnica de inteligência artificial Self Organizing Maps, aplicada ao cálculo de trajetória de robôs móveis, utilizando o chip FPGA como plataforma de execução. O projeto desenvolvido passou pelas etapas de criação dos ambientes a serem utilizados, a adequação do algoritmo para o objetivo proposto, simulações de desempenho do algoritmo e análise dos resultados obtidos no chip FPGA. A utilização do chip FPGA e a aplicação das técnicas de inteligência artificial se mostram, juntas, promissoras para os desafios enfrentados pela robótica móvel.
