Recebido em: 12/01/2021 Aceito em: 18/02/2021 Publicado em: 20/03/2021 RESUMO O objetivo foi avaliar a produção de mudas de pimenteiras-de-cheiro com o uso da macrófita Salvinia minima e carvão vegetal como substrato alternativo. O experimento foi conduzido em casa de vegetação, na UFAC em Rio Branco, Acre. As sementes para a produção das mudas foram obtidas de acessos no município de Rio Branco. O delineamento foi o inteiramente casualizado com cinco tratamentos e seis repetições, compreendidos pelas proporções: 100% substrato comercial (100% sc); 100% Salvinia minima (100% Sm); 80% Salvinia minima + 20% carvão vegetal (80% Sm+20% cv); 60% Salvinia minima + 40% carvão vegetal (60% Sm+40% cv), e 40% Salvinia minima + 60% carvão vegetal (40% Sm+60% cv). As variáveis avaliadas foram: altura de plantas (AP), diâmetro do colo (DC), massa seca da parte aérea (MSPA), massa seca radicular (MSR) e Índice de Qualidade do Desenvolvimento (IQD). As avaliações foram realizadas aos 54 dias após a semeadura. Houve efeito positivo do substrato para altura de plântulas, massa seca da parte aérea, massa seca radicular, massa seca total e Índice de Qualidade do Desenvolvimento. Não houve efeito significativo para o diâmetro do colo. A utilização de Salvinia minima e carvão vegetal promove melhor produção de mudas de pimenteiras-de-cheiro. Palavras-chave: Capsicum chinense.
